What these tools are, and who they are for

Everything on this page is a real, working tool that runs in your browser, free to use at this stage: no account, no trial clock, no watermarks. They were built alongside the SkyStudy ATPL question bank, so the calculators use the same conventions the EASA exams do (30 ft per hectopascal for altimetry, 2 °C per 1,000 ft for the standard atmosphere, 120 ft per degree for density altitude), and each tool page explains where its maths shows up in the exam, with a worked example and the trap the question writers like to set.

If you are an ATPL student, start with the study planning row to see what each subject takes, then keep the calculators open while you work through Performance, General Navigation and Meteorology questions. If you are already flying, the wind, altitude and fuel tools double as quick pre-flight cross-checks, and the METAR and TAF decoder reads a raw report back to you in plain language, runway wind included. And if the airline application is next, the CV maker and the aptitude exercises cover the two things selection actually screens first.

One honest note on what free means here. SkyStudy is a large library of pilot tools, and keeping a generous part of it free is how most people find the project at all. It is self-funded, so as individual tools mature some of them are likely to move to paid plans, and which ones stay free is not settled yet. What will not happen is a tool you already rely on quietly starting to charge: any change is announced before it takes effect, not after.
