Refunds & Withdrawal Rights
Last updated: 1 August 2026
The SkyStudy ATPL question bank is free to use during the public beta. Nothing is currently offered for sale. This page sets out the refund and withdrawal terms in advance, so they are transparent before any paid feature goes live.
1. Your EU Right of Withdrawal (14 days)
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have the right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or services within 14 days of the purchase, without giving any reason, under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as implemented in your country.
2. One-Time Purchases and Subscriptions Are Treated Differently
The two things we sell sit in different places in the law, so we say exactly what applies to each rather than giving you one blurred answer.
One-time purchases of a course (currently the ICAO English Pro course) are digital content delivered in one go. At checkout you tick a separate box, unticked by default, confirming that you want immediate access and that you thereby give up the 14-day withdrawal right. That is the exception at Article 16(1)(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive. If you do not tick it, the purchase does not go through and you are not charged. On top of that we run a voluntary money-back guarantee, described in section 5.
Subscriptions are an ongoing digital service rather than a one-off delivery, so we do not ask you to give up your withdrawal right and we do not treat it as given up. At checkout you confirm only that you want your access to start straight away, during the withdrawal period. Your 14-day right stays alive and ends when the period you paid for has been delivered in full. In law, withdrawing part-way through would let us keep a proportionate amount for the days you had access; in practice, inside 14 days on a first purchase we refund the whole amount and keep nothing.
3. How to Withdraw: Do It Yourself, Online
Go to Withdraw from your contract, pick the contract, and confirm. You do not need to give a reason and you do not need to email anyone. You will get a written confirmation by email recording what you sent and when.
Inside 14 days, on your first purchase, the refund is issued immediately and automatically, back to the card you paid with, and your access to that product ends at the same time. Anything outside that window, or a second request on the same account, still goes through the same form and is answered by a person within 30 days.
If you would rather write to us instead, that works too: email to2000bv@gmail.com from the address on your account. Any clear statement counts; no particular form is required.
Model withdrawal form (optional, the online form above already does this for you)
To the individual operator of SkyStudy, established in Romania and identified on the Legal Notice page: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the provision of the following service: [describe the subscription]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Email used on the account: [email]. Date: [today's date].
We will confirm receipt and, where a refund is due, reimburse you using the same payment method you used, without undue delay.
4. Cancelling Future Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. The renewal price and how often it happens are shown on the plan itself, immediately above the button, before you pay. You can stop the renewal at any time from the billing portal on your Subscription page. Cancelling stops the next charge, your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and there is no cancellation fee and no minimum term beyond the period you are in.
Cancelling is not the same as withdrawing. Cancelling stops the future. Withdrawing inside 14 days undoes the current period and gets your money back, and that is section 3.
5. Refunds Beyond the Statutory Right
Outside the statutory withdrawal right, refunds are handled in line with applicable consumer law and any mandatory rights that apply to your purchase. If a charge was made in error, a service was materially not as described, or a technical fault prevented access, contact support and we will put it right.
On top of that, the self-serve refund in section 3 is offered as a voluntary commercial promise for a first purchase inside 14 days, on both one-time purchases and subscriptions. It is offered once per customer, and it does not limit, replace, or reduce any statutory right you have.
6. Service Discontinuation
If we permanently discontinue a paid service, we will, where applicable, provide a pro-rated refund for unused paid time, as set out in our Terms of Service.
7. Prices and Tax
Prices are shown in EUR. The total price payable, including any applicable VAT for your country, is shown before you confirm payment at checkout. See our Terms of Service for full subscription terms.
8. If You Are Not Satisfied With Our Answer
Complaints come to us first, at to2000bv@gmail.com, and we answer within 30 days. If your complaint was not resolved and you are a consumer, you may refer the dispute to the alternative dispute resolution system (SAL) coordinated by the Romanian consumer protection authority ANPC at reclamatiisal.anpc.ro, or complain to ANPC at anpc.ro. SAL is voluntary and does not affect your right to go to court. See Legal Notice for the full routes.
