See a worked example
Passage: the briefing room opens at 06:00 and closes at 22:00 every day except Sunday, when it stays shut. Statement: the room is open at 07:00 on a Monday. The rule that decides every item of this kind is that you answer from the passage ALONE, with no world knowledge and no reasonable assumption. Monday is a day, it is not Sunday, and 07:00 is inside the stated window, so the passage settles it: True. Now the harder skill, which is knowing when the passage does NOT settle it. If the statement had been about Wednesday MORNING and the passage only mentioned free slots in the afternoon, nothing in the text covers mornings, so the answer is Cannot say, however obvious the real-world answer feels. Cannot say means the passage is silent, not that the statement is doubtful. Watch the quantifiers, because most, some and all are where these items are won and lost: a passage saying most pilots does not make a statement about all pilots either true or false, it makes it a Cannot say.
