Measure simple and choice reaction time, the speed of seeing a cue and acting on it. Processing speed underpins the psychomotor parts of pilot selection.

This measures processing speed and response selection: how quickly you detect a signal and make the correct response. Fast, reliable reactions support the timely actions flying sometimes demands, though accuracy always outranks raw speed.
React to the cue, not to your expectation of it. Early presses when there is no cue yet count as errors and pull your average up, so stay alert but still between stimuli. Keep your finger or hand close to the response key so the physical movement adds as little extra time as possible.
Simple visual reaction time typically falls between 200 and 270 milliseconds for most adults; anything below 250 is a solid result. Choice reaction is slower because you must identify which cue appeared before you can act. In pilot selection both types appear, because the decision step is as important as the raw speed.
Aptitude tests get you through selection. The EASA ATPL theory exams come next, and SkyStudy is built for that phase.
