Why D is right
Three steps, in order. Safe endurance is usable fuel over fuel flow, so 15 000 minus the 3 000 kg of reserves gives 12 000 kg, which at 2 500 kg per hour is 4.8 hours. Time to the point of safe return is endurance times the homebound groundspeed over the sum of both groundspeeds: 4.8 times 490 over 920 is 2.56 hours. Distance is that time at the outbound groundspeed: 2.56 times 430 is about 1 100 NM.
The trap
Every wrong option here is what you get by forgetting to subtract the reserves, using the wrong groundspeed in the fraction, or both. Reserves are not endurance. Fuel you are not allowed to burn cannot carry you away from the airfield, and the single most expensive habit in this topic is starting the calculation from the fuel on board.
