A runway has TORA = 2 500 m and a clearway of 800 m beyond the runway end. What is the maximum usable TODA?

Why B is right
Take-off distance available is the take-off run available plus whatever clearway you are allowed to count, and the clearway credit is capped at half the TORA. Half of 2 500 m is 1 250 m. The physical clearway here is only 800 m, which is under the cap, so all of it counts: 2 500 plus 800 is 3 300 m.
The trap
Option A, 3 750 m, is what you get by applying the cap as though it were the answer, 2 500 plus 1 250. It is the right rule used at the wrong moment. The cap is a ceiling on what you may claim, not a quantity you add: you always take the smaller of the real clearway and half the TORA.
